What usually causes it

Clear water is an ecosystem: circulation, filtration (skimmer, BioFalls, buried intake), rock, plants, bacteria, and fish in balance. A hole with a pump is not that. Undersized filters, a skimmer that never sees the surface, no real biological volume, too much sun with too few plants. The water stays green no matter how often you dump treatments in.

Sandhills yards add their own load. Summer heat pushes algae. Pine needles fill skimmers and rot in the basin. Clay fines wash in after rain and keep the water looking muddy. Those are normal here; a pond that wasn't designed as an ecosystem pond can't keep up.

When UV helps, and when the system is wrong

UV is an optional add-on, quoted separately. It is not in the regular price, and it is not always needed. A well-built ecosystem pond stays clear with circulation, filtration, rock, plants, and fish. UV can help stubborn green water in a pond that already has real flow and biology. It will not rescue a system that was never built to stay clear. We recommend it only when the pond calls for it.

What a visit inspects

Jon looks at how water actually moves: skimmer draw, BioFalls, pump size versus pond volume, buried intake if there is one, debris (needles, leaves, silt), plant coverage, and whether the pond was built as an ecosystem or as a liner and a pump. From there it's honest: seasonal service, a quoted drain-and-clean if that's truly needed (we do not list a dollar figure for drain-and-clean, it's quoted on the pond), a repair, or a renovation.

Care visits, if the bones are sound

If the pond can stay clear with service, drop-in care is $170. Membership on Care Membership: Essential $700 / season, Signature $900 / season, Oasis $2,040 / year. A full drain-and-clean is separate and quoted on its own.
